The staircase was adorned by adjacent walls that isolated the living space and obstructed the views and feel of the entry way to living room area. They wished to remove the staircase and corresponding walls to provide a more open and flowing feel to the space. This project involved coordinating with a local contractor who specialized in carpentry and related work to remove the existing staircase and walls, strengthen areas that would need to be utilized to support the new staircase, and final finishing after staircase was installed. After an extensive design phase, which provided various hand drawn sketches, 3d renderings, and online photo reviews, Jen and Rob chose the final design you see here.
Throughout the course of the project, we found that the best way to ensure the success of the project and provide the customer with their desired outcome, communication was critical. We stayed in constant communication with Rob and Jen through every phase of the project, and included an outline that detailed every step, so everyone remained on the same page throughout the course of the manufacturing. This is typical for our larger projects. Communication is key!
